Follow this guide to set up filtering conditions for your dashboard, in order to further filter the data of the widgets in the dashboard.
Prerequisites
A report has been created that you want to add a filter. If you haven't created it yet, refer to How to Create and Use Dashboards in MSPbots.
Add a new filter
- Log in to MSPbots app as an admin.
- Navigate to Dashboards on the menu.
- Click to open the dashboard that you want to add a filter.
- Click the
button.
- Click Add A Filter.
- Fill in the following fields.
- Filter Name

Condition
- Set the filter criteria by configuring the datasets. The dataset list displays the datasets for all widgets in this dashboard.The available datasets depend on which datasets are used by the widgets in the dashboard.
- The available condition fields are the fields of all datasets used in the current dashboard.
- Click + Condition button to add multiple filter conditions.

Filter Switch - The switch for this filter is on by default.
- Click Save.
- The widgets that use the filter's datasets will be highlighted and display an
icon. The filter for these widgets will be automatically enabled, and the data will be automatically refreshed.
* Theicon shows the number of active filters.
* The datasets of the Slicer are not filtered by the filters.
Disable or enable a filter
Disable or enable a filter for a dashboard
- Click the
button.
- Toggle on or off the filter.
Once it's off, the filter of all widgets using it will automatically close.
- If you can edit the dashboard, your settings will be saved for all users opening the dashboard.

If you cannot edit the dashboard, your settings will not be saved, and refreshing will clear your settings.
- If you can edit the dashboard, your settings will be saved for all users opening the dashboard.
Disable or enable the filter for a widget
For every MSPbots user,
- If you want to disable the filter of a widget, you can click
to change it to
. The widget will no longer be affected by the filters.
- If you want to enable the filter of a widget, you can click
to change it to
.
Edit the filter
- Log in to MSPbots app as an admin.
- Navigate to Dashboards on the menu.
- Click to open the dashboard that you want to add a filter.
- Click the
Filter button.
- Click the
Edit button.
- Modify the fields you need to change.
- Click Save. The widgets using this filter will be automatically refreshed.
Delete the filter
- Log in to MSPbots app as an admin.
- Navigate to Dashboards on the menu.
- Click to open the dashboard that you want to add a filter.
- Click the
Filter button.
- Click the
Edit button.
- Click Delete.
- Click OK. The Filter of all widgets using this filter will automatically close and these widgets will refresh automatically.
