MSPbots slicers enable users to interact with data dynamically and customize dashboards according to preferences and business needs. Applying the suitable filter to dashboards provides a more personalized experience because users can actively explore the data from which they can derive actionable insights.
This article presents the most commonly used template slicers in the MSPbots app. Browse the list below and choose the best slicer for your needs.
Prerequisites
Users must have an admin role to create dashboards and clone template slicers for business requirements.
What are the template slicers available in the MSPbots app?
Template Slicers for ConnectWise Manage
Slicer | Description |
Board Name | The Board Name slicer allows the selection of multiple board names to filter the board name data in ConnectWise Manage. |
CW Company Name 4 | The CW Company Name 4 slicer is a multi-select slicer that filters data by the given company names in the ConnectWise Manage Ticket Statistics - Cloud. |
ConnectWise Manage - Current Technician Member ID |
This slicer is a multi-select, dropdown list of all logged-in users. Selecting the technician names or identifiers will show data for these users. The technician will see only his name on the list, while t he admin's view shows all ConnectWise Manage users. |
Assigned Resources (Project Manager) |
The Assigned Resources (Project Manager) slicer allows you to show data for the Project Managers you select from the dropdown list. |
Username with login user multiple users (memberid) |
This multi-select slicer is a dropdown list of all technician usernames with login. Selecting users from the Technician list will show data for the selected name(s). |
ConnectWise Manage Member Name Slicer |
The ConnectWise Manage Member Name slicer lists the active and licensed ConnectWise members. Selecting users from the Member dropdown list will show data for the selected name(s). |
ConnectWise Manage Team Name Slicer for Suite Packages |
This slicer lets you select a team or multiple teams to show data for that selection only. |
CW Company Name | The CW Company Name slicer filters data according to the selected company name in the Company dropdown list. |
ConnectWise Manage Agreement Type |
This slicer filters data by ConnectWise Manage agreement type. It allows multiple selections and uses an operational data store (ODS) dataset. |
Include Addition Cost | The Include Addition Cost slicer is for the Agreement Profitability app. It lets users include or exclude additional costs from the efficiency and contribution rate calculation. |
CW Company Slicer (MultiSelect) | The CW Company slicer lets you select multiple companies to filter data. |
Client - Agreement Company Multiple |
The Client - Agreement Company Multiple slicer filters clients with agreements by company name and allows multiple selections. |
Company Slicer - Client Portal (Client and User) |
The Client Portal Company slicer allows you to select a company and display the corresponding data in your widget or dashboard. This is done by using email addresses in identifying logged-in clients and company names so that only company-specific data will be displayed for the selected company.
This slicer is for the Client Portal only. If the currently logged-in user is an admin, then the slicer will show all companies. |
Client Portal Company Slicer |
The Client Portal Company slicer allows you to display only data for the selected company. This is achieved by using email addresses to identify logged-in clients and company names so that only company-specific data will be displayed for the selected company.
This slicer is for the Client Portal only. If the currently logged-in user is an admin, then the slicer will show all companies. |
Connectwise Manage Project Type |
The ConnectWise Project Type slicer is a dropdown list of project types you can select individually or in multiples to filter project data. |

The Client List slicer shows data for the company names you select from the dropdown list. It filters data in the client column for Autotask tenants. |

The Mapped Clients Name slicer connects to the client mapping to filter dashboard data and send scheduled reports to a company and to all the company names mapped to it. To send filtered reports to a specific client and all the company names mapped to a client, you can set the value of QueryParams to mapped_client_names_slicer before creating a scheduled report. Refer to How to Filter Data for a Specific Client in Dashboards for information on how to use this slicer. |
How to use the template slicers
To apply a template slicer to your dashboard
- Go to Dashboards on the MSPbots app.
- Open the dashboard that needs the slicer and click Design.
- Next, click Add Widget.
- In the Add Widgets window, go to Slicers List then the Template Slicers tab.
- Select the templates you want to apply to your dashboard.
- Click Add Selected.
- Click the Save Dashboard button in your dashboard.
Don't forget to link the dashboard widgets to the active slicers to ensure that the data is filtered correctly.
