Using ETL on Dropbox files for MSPbots Datasets

Some clients manually input data in a flat file and upload it to Dropbox. Can MSPbots perform an ETL on this data for creating client datasets, and how is this done? 

Here's how you can set up Dropbox and MSPbots to allow ETL: 

  1. Set up the MSPbots and Dropbox integration. Follow the steps in the article Dropbox Integration Setup. 
  2. Add the file for conversion. 
    1. Go to Integrations on the MSPbots menu. 
    2. Locate the Dropbox integration.
    3. Click the ... button then select the Files option.

    4. When the list of files appears, select the user with the CSV file in their profile.
    5. Next, search for the file from the File Name field. You can also search using the file extension.
      If you are looking for a CSV file, search for *.csv to return all the CSV files, then click the file for conversion into a dataset.  
    6. Click the Save button and add the file.

Dataset creation is currently done manually by the MSPbots Data Engineers. This process will be automated soon. In the meantime, you can file a support ticket for converting your CSV file into a dataset.
