This article provides information on the MSPbots paywall and how to set up, modify, and manage your billing configuration.
1. What are the MSPbots paywall notifications?
You will receive paywall notifications when your MSPbots plan has expired, or when you try to access an asset not included in your current plan. These notifications tell you that your access to MSPbots assets has been restricted, and include guidance on how to proceed. Some examples of paywall notifications are the following:
Bot Usage Paywall Notification
By default, MSPbots clients are subscribed to the Free Bundle which has a time-based free trial on system integrations and includes limited features and user access. To fully maximize the benefits of the MSPbots features on your business, we recommend upgrading your bundle or subscribing to new assets and plans.
- For the A LA CARTE package: New users synchronized from Office 365 will be assigned a User role, and related fees will not be automatically charged to the tenant account that purchased the package.
- For the STARTUP/PROFESSIONAL package: New users synchronized from Office 365 will be assigned a Dashboard Only role, and related fees will not be automatically charged to the tenant account that purchased the package.
2. Setting up your billing account
Get your account ready for future transactions and set up billing with these steps:
- Log in to the MSPbots app and navigate to Settings > Billing.
- On the Billing tab, navigate to the Pay Method section and click the + ADD NEW button.
- Select Add Credit Card or Add Bank Account.

If you selected Add Credit Card, fill in the following information on the Create Card tab:

3. Verifying your ACH account
You need to verify your ACH account if you added a bank account to your payment method. To do this,
- Go to the Pay Method section on the Billing screen.
- Click the Verify link beside your bank account.
- On the Verify window, enter two Verification Amounts and click Confirm.
- The authentication is successful once your ACH account no longer shows Pending Verification.
4. Upgrading your plan or bundle
Boost the benefits of MSPbots on your business by upgrading your plan or bundle. Once you've set up your billing account, you can follow these steps to upgrade:
- On the Billing tab, navigate to the Your Bundles section and click Change.
- Customize your purchase plan - Select your preferred options in the following fields.

Bundle Type
- A la Carte
- Startup
- Professional

Contract Length.
- Monthly - Contract calculated monthly.
- Annual - Contract calculated annually.

Billing Frequency
- Pay Monthly - Pay on a monthly basis. This option is also available when the Length of Agreement is Annual.
- Pay Annually - Pay on a yearly basis. Receive a 15% discount when selecting this option.
- Configure the following options based on your selected Bundle Type.

When your Bundle Type is A la Carte,
Select a BI package, a PSA you are using for Next Ticket, and the number of users:
- What BI Package are included in the Plan?
- Which PSA do you use for Next Ticket?
- Bot Usage(Unlimited)
- Attendance
- Admin User
A la Carte subscribers who previously purchased admin seats but have not purchased a BI package must add other products to their purchase plan before upgrading and proceeding to checkout. For example, an admin seat must be purchased with at least one BI package, Attendance user, or Next Ticket user.
Similarly, trial users purchasing admin user licenses must purchase a BI package with the admin seats to proceed to checkout and complete their upgrade successfully.

When your Bundle Type is Startup,
- BI Package List - Click the Add button to select a BI package from the BI package List.
- Go to the Add-on section to add or remove seats for the following option.
- Extra Bundle User
- Bot Usage(Unlimited)
- Attendance Manager User
- NextTicket Manager User
- Admin User

When your Bundle Type is Professional,
Go to the Add-on section to add or remove seats for the following option:- Extra Bundle User
- Bot Usage(Unlimited)
- Attendance Manager User
- NextTicket Manager User
- Admin User

Below is an example of an Order.
Example:
Selected bundle - Startup Bundle
Selected contract length - Monthly
Selected billing frequency - Pay Monthly
Number of users - 14
The Startup Bundle gives access to up to 10 users. Because the users are more than 10, you must purchase four slots for additional users.
Calculation:
Total Cost = Startup Bundle ($800) + Extra number of Users x cost per user (4 x $80 = $280)= $800 + $320
= $1120 (The Total Cost excludes any applicable state sales tax.)
The Startup Bundles also includes the BI packages you selected. You can change this selection later.
At checkout, your order summary will display the applicable sales tax, calculated based on your state's tax rate. Tax will be applied only if applicable conditions are met.
1、On the Customize your purchase plan page,
* When you select the ConnectWise Manage - API BI package, you will not only have access to the assets and data of ConnectWise Manage - API but also those belonging to ConnectWise Manage - SQL.
* If you select the ConnectWise Manage - API BI package and the ConnectWise Manage - SQL BI package, you will access the assets and data of both ConnectWise Manage - API and ConnectWise Manage - SQL.
* Opting for the ConnectWise Manage - SQL BI package will grant you access only to the assets and data of ConnectWise Manage - SQL.
2、The values indicated in the spin boxes corresponding to the products are the minimum number of users with assigned licenses for each add-on.
You can reduce the number of seats down to the minimum value in the spin boxes only. If the value is more than your required number of licenses, follow these instructions to adjust the allocation of licenses before adding or removing add-ons:
* For Next Ticket, Attendance, and Bots only, go to Settings > Assign License in Next Ticket, Attendance, or Bots in the MSPbots app.
* For Extra Bundle User and Admin User, go to User Management in the MSPbots app and adjust the allocation of licenses for purchase.
Examples:
* If you set 3 Admin Users, the minimum number of Admin Users is three (3). If you need less, adjust the license allocation in User Management.
* If your company has 15 members and the package includes 10 users, the minimum number of Extra Bundle Users should be 5. If you want to reduce this minimum, go to the MSPbots User Management and decrease the number of users in your company.

- (Optional) If you want to apply a coupon, enter the coupon code and click Apply.
- The corresponding discount will be displayed.
- You can add multiple valid coupons.
- For more detailed descriptions, see Coupon Settings.
- Click Next: Review when done selecting.
- Click the Pay Now section to review the order details.
- Review your order details, then click the < Review Order button to return to the payment page.
- Review your account details, then click Pay now $xxx to pay the bill.

When the Payment Successful popup appears, it indicates that your payment is complete.
- Click Go to Homepage to return to the homepage.
- Click Billing Overview to check your billing updates.
- The Your Bundles section shows your current plan.
- The Bundles Usage tab shows the list of Assets, Quantity, and the Next Billing date.

(Optional) You can go to the Bundles section on the Marketplace page to verify your upgrade. If you upgraded to Startup, you should see the CURRENT PLAN button in this section.
5. How to purchase or subscribe to new assets (A la Carte Usage)
- Go to the MSPbots Marketplace and click the asset that interests you. Select BI Packages, Bots, Apps, or Featured apps.
- For example, if you need Bots for your company, click the Bots tab and Bot Usage.
- Next, click the Purchase button in the Bot Usage window.
- Choose to pay monthly or annually, then select the BI package and specify the additional bot users with the package. The cost will be calculated automatically according to your selection.

Click Next and follow the prompts.
- Review your order and click the Proceed To Checkout button.
- Lastly, click the Pay & Subscribe button to complete your order.
- Validate your purchase on Billing > A la Carte Usage and check if the new asset is on the Assets list.
6. How to view your billing history and get an invoice copy
To view the details of your billing history, go to Billing and scroll down to the Billing History section. This section shows the Transaction ID, Transaction Time, Card Number, Amount, and a link to the downloadable invoice.
To download a copy of your invoice, click the download icon under the Invoice column.
The image below is a sample invoice.
Your invoice will include the sales tax calculated at checkout, unless you have indicated tax exemption status by submitting a tax exemption certificate to MSPbots or are located and billed in a tax-exempt state.
7. How to cancel your subscription
Cancelling your A La Carte subscription

In the MSPbots app, go to Settings > Billing.
- On the Billing screen, go to the A la Carte Usage tab.

Navigate to the Action column and click the Cancel icon.

The Subscription Cancellation window asking you to contact the Client Success Team appears. Click OK.
- Send a cancellation request to the Client Success Team.
Please note that notify us at least 30 days in advance by sending a cancellation request to the Client Success Team.
Cancelling your Startup or Professional subscription

In the MSPbots app, go to Settings > Billing.

Click the Cancel button.

The Subscription Cancellation window asking you to contact the Client Success Team appears. Click OK.
- Send a cancellation request to the Client Success Team.
Please note that notify us at least 30 days in advance by sending a cancellation request to the Client Success Team.
8. Adding a Billing Email Address
Follow these steps to change or add the billing email address that will receive invoices from Chargebee:
- Log in to the MSPbots app and navigate to Settings > Billing.

On the Billing tab, go to the Invoice Email section and click the + ADD NEW button.
- In the Invoice Email pop-up window, enter your Email Address.
- Click Confirm to add the billing email address and save it in the Invoice Email section. Chargebee will start sending invoices to this email.
9. Changing Your Billing Email Address
- Navigate to Settings > Billing in the MSPbots app.
- On the Billing tab, go to the Invoice Email section, click the ellipsis ... button, and select Edit.
- In the Invoice Email pop-up window, modify the billing Email Address.
- Click Confirm to keep the configuration.
Other Settings
Coupon Settings
Delete a coupon
- Click
next to the coupon code.
- Click Delete.
- When you apply a coupon and the message Two coupons of the same type should not be passed appears, you can delete the last coupon you added first, then add the coupon you are currently trying to apply.
- When you apply a coupon and the message subscription[coupon]: Coupon cannot be applied as it is not applicable to any of the items appears, you can delete the invalid coupon.
