Creating a Progress Tracker Widget

This article shows the procedure for creating a progress tracker widget, which you can further customize according to your business needs.

When to use the Progress Tracker widget

The Progress Tracker widget helps you quickly view critical data and highlight action items at a glance. It also helps monitoring processes or services in a workflow.

How to create a progress tracker widget

  1. On the MSPbots menu, navigate to Widgets and click New Widget.

  2. When the New Widget window appears, select the Progress Tracker widget type.

  3. When the Widget Builder window opens, provide the following: 
  4. Click Apply.
  5. Go to Dataset and click the + button. This will open the Add New Layer window.

  6. Click New Layer in the Add New Layer window. This step opens the Dataset window.
  7. Do the following on the Dataset window: 
    1. Select a dataset. 
    2. Give the data source a name.
    3. Add columns by selecting an option from the Column Name dropdown list and assigning an Alias and Business Type for each. Click the add icon to add more rows.
    4. Add values for the Filter and Measure.
  8. Click the Save button.
  9. Click Apply.
  10. Next, go to Config and set the following:
    • Measure - Select the measure value that the progress tracker will show. 
    • Suffix - Input a corresponding label or footer title for the resulting measure data.

    • X-Axis Font Size - Set the size of the value of Measure and the display of Suffix.

    • Minimum - Set the minimum value of the tracker's measure. 
    • Maximum - Set the maximum value of the tracker's measure.

    • Configure Threshold - Click + Add button to set the expected color based on the range of the measure value for the progress tracker. For example, greater than 0 is green, less than or equal to 1000 is blue.

  11. Lastly, click Apply on the widget to show a preview.
