The Save and Sync function on the Integrations page marks the last step in the MSPbots integration process. Clicking the button initiates your professional service automation (PSA) tool's connection to MSPbots and verifies the credentials you provided during the setup. This step is crucial for enabling automated data retrieval from your PSA, giving MSPbots access to data for creating datasets and dashboards, and allowing your selected MSPbots assets to function according to your requirements.
What is the primary function of the Save and Sync button?
The Save and Sync button is primarily used when setting up integrations for the first time. It saves all the integration settings and syncs the PSA data into the MSPbots database.
Can I use the Save and Sync button for anything other than its primary function?
Clicking the Save and Sync button syncs all the data in the integration, which impacts all API endpoints. This action makes it unreliable if you will sync just one ticket or project record. It could also lead to data issues because it would sync all data in one go. These reasons make using the button not recommended for other purposes.
How often does the Save and Sync button perform synchronization?
The Save and Sync function syncs once a day, whereas API endpoints have specific sync intervals. For instance, the Autotask Tickets and Time Entry endpoints sync every 3 minutes, while the Projects endpoint syncs every 5 hours.
API Rate Limit Policy
Autotask has a limit of 10,000 on the number of external requests allowed per hour between an individual database and the API. A threshold with a usage-based latency is also in place, and you will receive a notification when latency is in effect.
Refer to the developer documentation for more information on API Thread Limiting and API Threshold Limits for Autotask.
