How to Create a Contact List Widget

Background information

The following guide explains how to create a contact list widget, using the example of creating a contact list widget for ConnectWise Manage.

You can configure scheduled reports using the ConnectWise Manage contact list widget to automatically send scheduled reports to specific contacts and companies without having to select multiple recipient email addresses. Creating a contact list widget

1. Log in to MSPbots as an admin.
2. Navigate to Widgets on the MSPbots app menu.
   
   
   
   
3. Click New Widget.
   
   
   
   
4. Choose the Grid widget type on the New Widget window.
   
   
   
   
5. Provide Name, Description, Role, and Tag on the Basic Setting tab.
   
   
   Don't forget to add Contact List in the Tag option.
   
   
   
   
6. Click Apply.
7. Configure the dataset.
   1. Click the    button. 
   2. Click the    button, then select New Layer. 
      
      
      
      
   3. Select a dataset from the Dataset dropdown list. For example, the ConnectWise Manage / ConnectWise Manage Contact Data dataset. 
      
      
      
      
   4. Add columns for full_name, default_email, contact_type, and company_name as shown below. 
      
      
      
      
   5. Then go to the Filter section and add a condition with the parameters contact_type > Equals > Decision Maker.  
      
      
      
      
   6. Click Save when done.
8. (Optional) If you want to modify the settings in the Config tab, refer to Creating a Grid Widget for instructions.
9. Click Apply to keep the settings.

Verify if the Contact List widget was created successfully

1. Go to Dashboards.
2. Open a dashboard that has a Company or Mapped client names slicer.
3. Click the button.
   
   
    
4. Click the +New or +Create a new Schedule button. 
   
   
   
   
5. On the New Schedule Screen, enable the Automated Contact List switch. 
   
   
   
   
6. Click the Contact List dropdown box to check if the contact list widget you just created is in the Custom list.
   
   • If it is, that confirms your creation was successful.
   • If it is not there, reset the contact list widget you created until it appears in the Contact List dropdown list.
