This article discusses the steps to filter data for a certain client in a dashboard.
Prerequisites
You need admin permissions to configure the settings.
If you don't have enough permissions, contact your administrator for help.
How to filter data for a specific client in dashboards
For example, a client wants to filter their data in a dashboard using their name ABC in the Auvik integration. The dashboard contains data from Auvik integration, ConnectWise Manage - API integration, and NinjaOne integration. However, the client names in these three integrations are different - ABC in Auvik integration, ABCD in ConnectWise Manage - API integration, and ABCDE in NinjaOne integration.
1. Complete the Client Mapping settings.
- Log in to MSPbots app as an admin.
- Go to Labs > Automated Client Mapping, where you can map the company names to those set in the MSPbots app.
- Refer to Automated Client Mapping to map client names to their corresponding companies and integrations.
For example, successfully map the client names of the three integrations - Auvik integration, ConnectWise Manage - API integration, and NinjaOne integration, and set Auvik as the primary integration. - Once completed, the mapping will ensure that the company names for different integrations will be associated with the corresponding company name in the app. All company updates will then be reflected on each of the mapped companies and integrations.
2. Set the Client Name field in the Datasets.
In the example, the following steps for setting the dataset used by the widget sourced from ConnectWise Manage - API integration and setting the dataset that the data source from NinjaOne integration is the same.
- Go to Datasets as an admin.
- Search for the dataset that the widget used and click on it to open.
For example, the dataset used by the widget sourced from ConnectWise Manage - API integration.
- Click Fields > Config Fields.
- Select the field of client names in this dataset, and the source integration in Client Mapping.
For example, set company_name as the Field and set ConnectWise Manage - API integration as the Source.
- Click Save.
- There is a Client Name tag next to the configured field.
For example, the company_name field.
3. Add the company slicer to your dashboard.
To add the Tenant Client Name slicer to the dashboard which you want to filter data, for detailed steps refer to How to Add a Slicer to the Dashboard.
4. Filter the client data.
Enter the client name you want to filter in the Tenant Client Name slicer and the widgets in the dashboard will only display data for the client.
For example, if you enter ABC, you could get the data for client names ABC, ABCD, and ABCDE simultaneously.
