The partnership of MSPbots with Pax8 allows MSPs to purchase MSPbots assets and business intelligence services from the Pax8 Marketplace. This partnership offers an alternative channel where MSPs can register to MSPbots and maximize the benefits for their businesses. MSPs registered to MSPbots through Pax8 do all purchasing, upgrade, and billing transactions via the Pax8 portal.
How does MSPbots registration through Pax8 work?
When an MSP purchases an MSPbots license from the Pax8 Marketplace:
- A provisioning request is automatically sent to MSPbots.
- The MSPbots system reviews the request and, if the request fulfills the requirements, sends the MSP a welcome email containing the next steps for completing the registration.
Below is an example of the welcome email.
- After completing the registration, the MSP will receive another notification with instructions on configuring roles, integrations, and other settings.
- If the purchasing MSP is an a la carte user, its admin should allocate the purchased seats to the desired BI assets and the NextTicket application. The next section discusses how to allocate the purchased licenses.
How can MSPs with A La Carte subscriptions allocate licenses?
Purchasing MSPbots from the Pax8 portal allots the number of slots specified in the provision request to the registered MSP. After a successful A La Carte subscription purchase, MSPbots will email the MSP via the registered email address and ask the admin to log in to the MSPbots app and allocate the purchased licenses to the desired BI packages and NextTicket.
To allocate the purchased A La Carte licenses:
- Open the A La Carte Purchase email and click the attached link. You will be directed to the MSPbots Billing page.
- Check your purchases on the page, click the gear icon for the assets, and start distributing your licenses.
For example, click the gear icon corresponding to the purchased BI Packages - PSA.
- Click the +Add link in the BI Packages - PSA window and select the PSAs to allocate the license.
- Click Save.
- Repeat these steps for all the purchased BI Packages and NextTicket assets.
MSPbots account management for Pax8-registered MSPs
MSPs who registered via Pax8 manage their MSPbots billing accounts, including adding and removing seats, and other billing transactions, at the Pax8 website.
Increasing and decreasing seats
Pax8-registered MSPs can add or remove seats from the Pax8 portal. Each time a seat is added or removed, a notification is sent to the MSPbots app to alert the MSP admin of the adjustment. Below is an example of the in-app notification:
Cancelling subscriptions
MSPs who registered through Pax8 can cancel their subscriptions from the Pax8 portal. When an MSP cancels, MSPbots receives the provision request to cancel and sends an email notification to the requesting MSP, saying that the request has been processed successfully.
Upgrading or downgrading subscriptions
MSPs can upgrade or downgrade their StartUp or Professional subscriptions from the Pax8 website. The requesting MSP's admin will receive a notification in the app, via email, and in MS Teams or Slack each time an MSP upgrades or downgrades.
Only upgrades from StartUp to Professional and downgrades from Professional to StartUp are allowed. To upgrade A La Carte subscriptions, MSPs should cancel and upgrade to the desired package. Alternatively, to downgrade from the Bundle plans, MSPs should cancel and downgrade to the desired package.
